This series of sculptures come
from the Pathenon and were situated
in the triangular bit of the pediment.

The sculputres show the progression
of day to night. Starting with Helios the sun
god rising out of the ocean.

Dionysus the god of wine, Demeter, Persephone.

The Sculptures were bought by
Lord Elgin in 1801, and there is a request
that they be returned to Greece.

Hebe, Hestia and Aprodite.
and finally the horses of Selene,
the goddess of night.
