Thmaes Barrier - built in 1983 to
prevent London flooding, and is closed
a number of times a year at high tides.There is a visitors centre with an exhibition about the barrier.

The barrier is made of six cylindrical
gates wighing 1500 tonnes each operated
by hydraulic beams.The roof are made of stainless steel.
